Is it bad to snack at night?

A avocation celebrating

You’ve probably always heard that eating before bed is bad for you, but new evidence shows that healthy snacking before bed doesn’t cause weight gain.

The key word here is healthy.

Eating snacks high in unhealthy fat and sugars (chips, snack cakes, ice cream, etc.)  before bed can keep us awake during the night and can lead to weight gain. Healthy snacks, however, show no adverse health effects and can even promote better sleep. Some examples of healthy night time snacks include nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
